Cold Morning

Morning;  -5 below with a light wind. Steve was out last night with the groomer and drag and reports base is good, water holes have frozen up but still a little rough. Trail getting out of town a little thin in spots but overall pretty good. With the new snow coming in tomorrow we will be in good shape. The lake sealed from Farm Island south to Sandbar Island, I still see sea smoke in Socatean and east of Sandbar. Happy Trails…Brad

Renting Sleds

Morning; 0 degrees with a light breeze. The lake is starting to skim over again on the upper end, still not safe to go on. Most of the trails are in good condition, the water holes are freezing up. The groomers should be back out tonight. We will be renting sleds this weekend . . . Brad

Back In Business

Afternoon; 17 degrees and windy. We got 10 to 12 inches of the white gold and the groomers are out. Should have more info on trail conditions by morning. Looks like cold and calm weather Friday night and maybe we can get this big water hole out front sealed up for good. Have a great day . . . Brad

Looking Up

Morning; 4 degrees and calm. The upper end of the lake is starting to freeze again, the brooks are slowing down and snow is coming for our trail base with another storm this weekend. Things are looking up . . . Brad

It Is What It Is

Morning; 25 degrees and dropping. The ice line has pushed back to Sandbar Island as of this morning. We got rain on Sunday but still have a fair amount of snow left, it should make a good base for the storm coming in Tuesday night and Wednesday  It`s a slow start but we should be OK…Brad

Lost Some

Morning; 24 degrees and breezy. We lost some ice, looking up the lake from Moose River through the gut at Farm Island is open water. South of Kineo is still holding with a few open holes. THE LAKE IS NOT SAFE TO GO ON!!! Brad

The Lake Has Ice

Morning; 18 degrees and calm. From what I can see from the hill Moosehead has ice, by no means is it safe. The key is if it will hold through the warm, windy and rainy Sunday. Groomers are going out, water holes are freezing and maybe a snow storm the middle of next week. Keep your fingers crossed…Brad

Not Safe

Morning; 24 degrees. The lower half of the lake has froze over (NOT SAFE TO GO ON), the upper half is trying to freeze right now. Other lakes in the area have ice but are not safe to go on either. We have one groomer out to the Demo yard to groom the road trails West of the water hole. We could use some more snow but things are getting better. THINK SNOW . . . Brad

Coldest of the Year

Morning; Had 10 below at one point this morning. There has been too much wind to freeze the lake out front. I can`t see too far out on the lake because of all the sea smoke. Trail conditions will come as I hear them. On the road tomorrow so next report will be on Thursday . . . Brad
