37th Annual MLVSA Ice Fishing Derby The 37th Annual Moosehead Lake Vacation and Sportsman Association Ice Fishing Derby will be here before you know it. The derby kicks off Saturday at 12:00 AM on March 3rd and goes till 4PM on Saturday, March 10th. Derby tickets are available at Moosehead Bait & Tackle, Lucky's Bait & Tackle, Rockwood Store and Indian Hill Trading Post. A weigh station will be set up in Rockwood at Moosehead Bait and Tackle. Weigh-in starts at 9:00 AM and closes at 5:00 PM. On Saturday March 10th, the scales close at 4:00 PM, sharp. Derby dinner starts at 5PM at the Rockwood Community Center with $500 in cash prizes and trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Togue, Brook Trout, Salmon and for largest Cusk. A general raffle and auger raffle will take place after dinner. Join the fun and enjoy the tail end of the ice fishing season on Moosehead Lake. The derby is dedicated to Margaret Scott and the proceeds go to plowing Kineo Docks and to Life Flight.

Moosehead Lake Togue Derby January 26th to January 28th Three prizes will be awarded for the first, second & third largest togue. Winners will be ranked by weight. Prizes for the three largest togue are $1,500 1st place, $500 2nd place, and $250 3rd place. Ticket Prices: $25 Individual $40 Family Ticket (Parents, Grandparents or Guardians and children age 17 and under) $5 Youth Door Prize Raffle Ticket (Top Prize: Maine lifetime resident fishing license) Tickets for the derby are on sale right now at www.NRECmoosehead.org.

7th Annual Pig Roast 7th Annual Pig Roast Saturday September 3 2016 Location: Moosehead Sled Repair & Rental Time: 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM Raffles, 50/50, sales start at 12 noon, Dinner is served at 5pm. NREC adds 3 days to derby due to poor ice conditions! We will add three days to the derby on the weekend of February 19th- 21st. The banquet, silent auction, and door prize drawings will occur on Saturday February 20th at the Masonic Hall in Greenville at the same times advertised. The weigh-in stations will be open for the 3-day period for the same time periods as advertised. Check out the NREC website for more info.

16th Annual Moosehead Lake Togue Derby 2016 NREC is in the process of crankin' up the ice fishing derby. They will be offering new and bigger prizes including a vacation trip, ice fishing package, several sporting firearms, and much more! These prizes will be drawn from the entry forms so no more "fish pool" prizes and you don't have to fish to win. The ticket prices remain the same and ticket sales will be on the NREC webpage in time for the derby. There will be a wild game banquet at the American Legion Hall for Saturday night of the derby. Door prizes will be drawn after dinner.
